Parents, Guardians, Students, and Friends,

Hello All!  The Staff thanks you for your wonderful holiday gifts!  It is greatly appreciated that you think of us at the holidays...and our staff is so thankful!

It is hard to believe that we are discussing recital already, but in order for it to be a smooth process we need all of your assistance.  We are proud to announce, once again, that we are having the recitals at ROBBINSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL.  The dates are Saturday May 19th and Sunday May 20th.  As always, there are 4 recitals plus a solo/small group show.  Recreational students will perform in one show but Team/Pre-team students will perform in more than one show (one show will have all of their dances and the other show will have 2 of their dances). Hopefully this letter will help be a guide to get you through the next couple of months.  WE KNOW THIS IS ALOT OF PAPER WORK, BUT PLEASE READ CAREFULLY, GET OUT YOUR CALENDARS AND MARK THEM ACCORDINGLY WITH THESE IMPORTANT DANCE ATTITUDES DATES. Ticket Lottery

SATURDAY MARCH 17TH – FRIDAY MARCH 30TH.  

What is the "lottery"?  In order to make seating as fair as possible, one person from each family chooses a lottery number randomly from a box during the 2 weeks listed above. In this box, are numbers from 1 to 200. Each number represents what order we pull your tickets for you, your "Line Placement". However, You DO NOT actually wait on a line or attend ticket sales at all!!   You will receive an envelope which will display your "Line Placement" number on it. You fill out the envelope and then hand it in with the cash in it for your recital tickets before spring break (anytime before March 3oth). We will pull the best seats for you in the order YOU have chosen.  Each number drawn entitles you to a specific amount of tickets depending on the show you are purchasing tickets for.  This prevents the number ONE from buying recital tickets for everyone in the school.  

****AMOUNT OF TICKETS ALLOWED FOR EACH SHOW Each show has a different set limit of tickets. For the Saturday 12:00pm show, each person can buy up to 11 tickets. For the Saturday 4:00pm show, each person can buy up to 9 tickets. For the Sunday 10:30am show, each person can buy up to 8 tickets and Finally, for the team show (Sunday at 5pm), each person can buy up to 10 tickets. At the end of the sale, after everyone has had the same opportunity to buy their specified amount of tickets, additional tickets will be pulled, depending on availability.  (Extra are almost NEVER turned down, they are just not in the same spot as your original seats)

 

**NEW** to TICKET SALES
Ticket sales are during Spring Break when dance is closed!! WE ARE CLOSED SATURDAY MARCH 31ST - TUESDAY APRIL 10TH DUE TO SPRING BREAK -WE RE-OPEN WEDNESDAY APRIL 11TH.

This year, we are going to pull ALL of the tickets ourselves by ticket lottery number... This means, you CANNOT come in and pick your own seats. All tickets will be ready for you when you come back from spring break alphabetized by last name in a box . This year, when you pull a number and receive an envelope at Ticket lottery, in addition to having your "Line Placement" number on it, the envelope will also have detailed questions on the front. These questions will give you different scenarios that may come up at your number! Example of questions: Which number does your child stand on?, Can we separate your seats as long as 2 are together?, Would you be willing to sit in the first 3 rows?, Would you rather be closer to the center, but farther back OR would you rather be on an end, but closer to the stage?, Do you need Extra Tickets?, etc...

If your child is 3-5 years old, please ask your teachers what number your child stands on for their dances or ask your child to find out. This will help decide which side of the auditorium you want to sit on (if possible). If your child is in Kindergarten or up, they have 3 dances in the recital and usually move around a lot, but if you would like to ask the teacher, please do not hesitate- **just remember that at those ages, they are in 3 dances so ask about all 3! Please get the info early on so that when the ticket lottery comes up, you will know the answers to the questions! If you choose NOT to answer the questions clearly or at all, then you will be given the best possible seats at your number as always.

Again, you will NOT be present to buy tickets. There will be NO appoinment times on the "Line Placement" envelopes, there will only be a number which will represent the order that we pull your tickets for you. Example- If you pull number "1", we will pull your seats first (after seniors and staff), if you pull number "70", we will pull your tickets after number "69", etc... Ask Patricia, Stephanie, Ivy, Sharon, or Joan for an envelope after you pull a number during Saturday March 17th - Friday March 30th. Please fill out the envelope and put the money in it (cash) as soon as you can so you do not forget! Tickets are $21.00 per person.  There are No child priced tickets.

**WHEN YOU HAND IN YOUR ENVELOPE WITH THE CASH INSIDE, YOU WILL RECEIVE A RECEIPT THIS YEAR!**

 

EXAMPLE 1: Tommy Tune takes one dance class. One ADULT from his/her family picks a number from the front desk during the ticket lottery. They pull the number fifteen (15) they are the fifteenth person to purchase tickets) which means, we will pull THE AMOUNT OF TICKETS YOU SPECIFY FOR THEIR SHOW at that number. Of course, if you want more tickets than allowed, you put the extra money in the envelope and after everyone has had the opportunity to purchase their SPECIFIED AMOUNT OF TICKETS, depending on availability, we will pull the extra tickets for you at that time as long as we have the additional money in advance. (Extra tickets are almost NEVER turned down, they are just not in the same spot as your original seats)

 

EXAMPLE 2: Dina and Debbie Dancer are sisters and in separate recitals. They are permitted to choose one lottery ticket per recital. *IF SIBLINGS ARE COMPLETELY SEPARATED, YOU TAKE THE BETTER OF THE TWO LOTTERY NUMBERS AND USE IT FOR BOTH SHOWS. YOU ALSO GET THE EQUIVALENT AMOUNT OF TICKETS PURCHASED FOR THE FIRST SHOW, FREE TO THE SECOND ONE BUT ONLY UP TO THE SPECIFIED AMOUNT DEPENDING ON THE SHOW. IF YOU ARE SEPARATED 2 YEARS IN A ROW, YOU WILL RECEIVE PREFERRED SEATING AND FREE TICKETS (UP TO THE SPECIFIED AMOUNT) TO BOTH SHOWS! If you are on a team or Pre-team and you are separated with 1 or 2 of your numbers from a siblings show, you are still NOT considered split.


EXAMPLE 3: Dina and Debbie Dancer are siblings and in the same recital. They are still only permitted to draw one lottery number and only permitted to buy THE SPECIFIED AMOUNT OF TICKETS FOR THEIR SPECIFIC SHOW (THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BUY DOUBLE THE AMOUNT. If you are on a team or Pre-team and you are separated with 1 or 2 of your numbers from a siblings show, you are still NOT considered split.

 

EXAMPLE 4: Tippy Toes is in more than one recital and you want to see her perform in all of her shows/dances. You must choose one lottery number per show and hand in an envelope for both. NO FREE TICKETS ARE GIVEN IN THIS CASE!

 

Ticket Sales are CASH only! Please leave the envelope with cash and we will pull your seats for you. 

 

Friday April 13th- May tuition must be paid by this time!! No child will be permitted to perform in recital without May tuition. Please note: Any payments made after this date, must be paid in cash or credit card. Credit card customers: In the month of April, your credit card will be charged for April and May tuition unless we are otherwise instructed. Thank you.


DRESS REHEARSALS
Tuesday May 1st,  Friday May 11th & Monday May 14
th for your class time- please check the website after April 1st. Dress rehearsal is at Marlboro Middle School, NOT Robbinsville High School.


Recitals-
Please check online schedule to see which recital(s) your child (ren) is in. Your child is expected to arrive 
45 minutes prior to show time at Robbinsville High School. More information will follow. On-line there is a clear holiday calendar with all the important dates highlighted. Check it out!

 

Recital Break/Memorial Day Break
We will be closed MONDAY MAY 21ST - MONDAY MAY 28TH for Recital Break/Memorial Day

WE RE-OPEN TUESDAY MAY 29TH

TUESDAY JUNE 12TH - Last Day Of the Dance Season

Recital Pictures-

Please note- Pictures are taken after recital, so please take care of your costumes. Dates are probably TUESDAY JUNE 5TH - TUESDAY JUNE 12TH which is also the last day of the dance season.
