Mr. Jona Biddle – Hip Hop

Jona Biddle, dance choreographer extraordinaire, originally from Atlantic City, NJ, made his mark in New York conquering his big city dreams with a dance formula for success. As a child, Jona Biddle was affectionately known, as the “Dancing Machine”, and he believes that dance is an art that transcends all boundaries. This, along with his motto of, “Strivers Achieve, What Dreamers Believe” became the motivation that inspires Jona, and propelled his successful ventures.

Jona Biddle’s belief that all things are possible, helped him to stay focused in school, and motivated him to later become a college graduate of Virginia State University. Jona entertained audiences from his hometown in NJ, to sold out stadiums in Virginia, and then relocated to New York City to pursue his entertainment career in the big apple. He has also taken this style, and used it as a catalyst to create The Professionals Dance Company, TPDC, which he is the founder, creative director & choreographer of this commercial development dance company. Under the direction of Jona Biddle, TPDC’s credits include Beyonce’s “Let’s Move” campaign for First Lady Michelle Obama, Willow Smith’s “Whip My Hair” (BET’s 106 & Park special video premiere), and Columbia Records Christmas concert at NY’s Highland Ballroom, with Willow Smith & Mindless Behavior, BET’s 106 & Park, Beatstock 2011, and the Apollo, just to name a few.

Jona Biddle has recently become one of the most sought after NYC choreographers. His fresh, and innovative choreography gives him an edge, as he creates each piece unique and different, and tailored for the specific artist. Celebrity cliental that have secured Jona Biddle for his dance services include, Beyonce’s TARGET in-store, Willow Smith, Pop artist Danni Ai (signed with Grammy nominated producer, “Allstar”), John Fitz, choreography for a VH1 reality show, “Love & Hip-Hop”, Interscope Recording artist, Ahsan Watts, Mary J. Blige’s & Def Jam/Matriarch Recording artist, Katlyn Nichol, and Starcyde Entertainment pop girl group, Lucki Gurlz. Jona’s recent work also includes, ABDC’s Vinny Castronovo (formally of the Iconic Boyz), and Audemar Piguet secured Jona’s choreography services for the launch party at their latest watch collection premiere event. Jona Biddle’s choreography skills were showcased recently with, Interscope Recording Artist, Ahsan, Arthur Ashe Kid’s Day, Def Jam/Matriarch Recording Artist, Katlyn Nichol, on The 2012 Scream Tour, with the OMG Girlz, Diggy Simmons, Jacob Latimore; The Essence Music Festival; BET’s 106 & Park & The Apollo. Jona Biddle, was also involved in casting dancers for Channing Tatum’s latest event for his movie “Magic Mike”, and he was featured on Bravo’s Housewives of NJ, choreographing for  his T.P.D.C. dancers for their Beatstock debut performance! Whether Jona Biddle is dancing, working with celebrity clientele, choreographing for his dance company, conducting regional Hip-Hop Workshops, & Master classes, or mentoring for Camp Mariah, J.B. is always looking to take his career, his dancers, and protégés to another level.


Miss Gabby De La Paz – Jazz/Cheer Funk

In 2013, Gabby was a dancer for the Arena Football League’s Philadelphia Soul where her love and passion for pro dance began. After completing her rookie season, Gabby had the humbling experiencing of being the coach and choreographer of the 2014-2015 Junior Soulmates Dance Team. Since 2014, Gabby has been a coach and choreographer for the Rutgers Junior Knights Dance Team. She has had the pleasure of choreographing for multiple cheerleading teams in and surrounding her hometown. Gabby has also been seen as a featured dancer on MTV’s show Guy Court and dancing alongside of freestyle artists TKA, Sugar Hill Gang and Cynthia. Most recently, Gabby appeared dancing behind Crystal Waters at Madison Square Garden, and Marquee, NYC. Currently working towards a degree in special education at Monmouth University, one of Gabby’s proudest accomplishments is being able to work at The Shore Center for students with autism, as well as teach dance classes for students with disabilities. Gabby simply loves teaching and being a positive role model to all dancers. She wishes to instill and enhance confidence in her students that will shine on and off stage.


 

Mr. Calen Kurka – Contemporary Modern

Raised in Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Canada, Calen Kurka started his training in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Musical Theatre, Modern, and Chinese Dance. He then later moved to Edmonton, Alberta, furthering his training competitively. Currently on faculty at Broadway Dance Center in New York City, as an instructor Calen has taught across Canada, the U.S. and Japan, and more recently in Ireland at Dublin’s Dance Jam ’07. He is currently instructing for Dance Masters of America as one of their Master Faculty, and is also on faculty with Dance Educators of America. His choreography has been recognized as outstanding at many competitions throughout the U.S. and Canada, and has been the recipient of many awards. In addition to teaching in and around New York he’s also assisted choreographer, director, instructor, Michele Assaf.

Calen’s performing credits include being an original member of the first national tour of Jeff Amsden’s widely acclaimed “A Few Good Men Dancin'”, and performing with recording artist Carmella in a tribute concert to Cher. He’s also worked closely with choreographer/instructor Chris Hale. As a featured performer, Calen’s stage credits include having spent a year on contract with Tokyo Disney as a Main Stage performer, and taking on such leading roles as Capt. Von Trapp in “The Sound of Music” and Seymour in “Little Shop of Horrors” in regional stage productions. In addition he can be seen in “The Live! at Broadway Dance Center” video series “Turns and Turn Combos”, dancing with choreographer Danny Herman, and heading his own instructional video “Floor Work with Calen Kurka and Chris Hale”: A new addition to the “Live at BDC” collection.


 

Miss Kat Wildish – Ballet

Kat Wildish is a New York City master ballet and pointe technique teacher for students of all ages & levels, formerly on faculty at The Ailey Extension, she currently teaches at Pace UniversityPeridance Capezio Center and Ballet Arts.
She performed with New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theater, and numerous international companies including Zurich Ballet, Metropolitan Opera Ballet, and The Eglevsky Ballet (under artistic director Edward Villella).
